Ear complaints are unpleasant and often associated with pain. An otoscopy is used to identify where the problem lies and whether, for example, inflammation, an infection or a plug is the cause of the discomfort.
In the case of ear problems such as earache, itching or hearing loss in the ear, we can carry out an ear screening.
This allows the exact problem to be defined and treatment options presented.
The ear check is uncomplicated and in most cases saves you a visit to the doctor.
If the problem is an earwax plug, we can flush it out at our clinic.
The ear check can be used to investigate the causes of common ear problems such as the following:
Pain
feeling of pressure
itching
blocked ear canal
Change in hearing
dizziness
During the otoscopy, you as the customer have the opportunity to follow the recording of your ear on the screen. Our specialists will discuss the results with you after the ear check. They will recommend the appropriate treatment and let you know if a consultation with a doctor is recommended. If a plug in the ear, i.e. an accumulation of earwax, is discovered during the examination, we have the option of carrying out ear irrigation.
The ear check is not suitable for children under the age of 5. However, we will be happy to advise you if your child has earache.
If your complaints are due to a ceruminous plug, we can flush it out.
How does ear irrigation work?
Ear drops are used to soften and loosen the cerumen blockage.
Depending on the nature of the plug, it can be removed in the same session after a short exposure time.
If the plug does not dissolve straight away, the drops are applied overnight and removed in a second session the next day.
